Dementia is a condition where an affected individual will have a short term memory difficulties, problem with speech (language), getting lost ( orientation), ability to complete routine tasks ( apraxia) ability to complete complex multi step tasks( paying bills, getting groceries, preparing food). 

Dementias can be various types:

- Alzheimer's Dementia

- Vascular Dementia

- Lewy Body Dementia

- Dementia due to head trauma

- Dementia due to Parkinson Disease

- Dementia-Normal Pressure Hydrocephalous

- Dementia due to HIV/AIDS, Syphilis

- Dementia due Chronic Alcohol use

Many patients with dementia have behavioral problems, which causes stress to care givers. We do evaluate and manage the behavioral problems associated with dementias.
