At Mid-Florida Psychiatry Center, apart from psychiatric care to patients via telepsychlive, we offer training and teaching for students, in history taking, diagnosing common psychiatric condition and treatment approaches. Also students will learn about various pharmaceuticals to treat the psychiatric illnesses. We do get students from NOVA Southeastern University, Barry University, Online RNP programs such Wilkes, Walden, and Florida State University and few of the Caribbean Medical Schools.
We would like each student to contact us via email or phone, and provide us their email ID (preferably PERSONAL, not a school email ID, as many school server may block these kind of sharing/access to other servers) to receive access to a Google Drive folders, which will provide more details about this rotation, some useful links and passcode to join the ZOOM room. Also you will find a mandatory paperwork before you start the rotation, which you will fill in and email us or upload into the google drive folder you have access to.
Dress Code: Nothing Specific, your choice of uniform, scrubs, formal dress, lab coat etc.. of course a decent and professional attire.
Equipment: For a smooth flow of being in Classroom ZOOm and patient interview zoom room etc. you need TWO devices can launch zoom application and ONE Mobile phone to make calls or texting.
A good internet speed is advisable to have a seamless audio/video calls.
Orientation: Please view the brief video and also read the written document for the orientation in google drive etc to familiarize the process of providing the telepsychlive visits, patient zoom rooms on time and being part of the classroom etc. Passwords will be provided to you either on the first day of your rotation or you will find some info in the Google Drive, when you access to as mentioned above by sending us your personal email and requesting access.
